Changes to your Lumos TV service.
Listed below are changes to our Lumos TV services, the impact of these changes will depend on your package subscription and your TV market.
1. SHOWTIME is becoming Paramount+ with SHOWTIME:
In January 2024, the SHOWTIME premium channel (channel 220 in VA and channel 375 in NC) will become “Paramount+ with SHOWTIME.” In addition to the SHOWTIME programming you love, the Paramount+ with SHOWTIME channel will now also feature select Paramount+ programming. This update will occur automatically and will not have any impact on your TV package or channel lineup. No action is needed on your part.
2. SHOWTIME Anytime App retirement:
On December 14, 2023, SHOWTIME is retiring it’s SHOWTIME Anytime app. The content will become available on Paramount+, but a separate subscription will be required. You can purchase this subscription directly through Paramount at paramountplus.com. This will not affect the SHOWTIME channel on your TV plan! It only affects the SHOWTIME app. As a friendly tip, you can still access SHOWTIME stored content using the Replay and Lookback features of the Lumos TV App.
3. Retirement of Stadium Sports channels:
Effective December 31, 2023, the Stadium Sports channels (channels 301, 302 and 303 in VA and channel 84 in NC) are being shut down and will be removed from the channel lineup. This was a decision on the network’s part to retire the channels so unfortunately, we will no longer be able to offer them.
4. Retirement of Circle TV channel:
Effective December 31, 2023, the Circle TV channel (channel 3 in VA and channel 28 in NC) was shut down and removed from the channel lineup. This was a decision made by the network, and we regret that we will no longer be able to offer it.
5. Migration from TV2GO to Watch TV Everywhere:
Starting in January 2024, North Carolina video subscribers who are using the TV2GO platform to authenticate programming apps such as Max, ESPN, etc. will be moved to the Watch TV Everywhere platform. Customers may experience loss of metadata and profiles but we expect a full migration with customer accounts intact. Customers using the TV2GO platform should now go directly to www.watchtveverywhere.com and pick Lumos TV (North Carolina) and enter the username and password used for the TV2GO login screen. Learn more about Watch TV Everywhere and how to use the service.
Customers who subscribe to Lumos TV (streaming) in both North Carolina and Virginia will continue to authenticate through www.watchtveverywhere.com as no changes were made to that login experience.
6. NC Fiber TV DVR Mobile Scheduler Discontinuation:
Effective February 22, 2024, the Fiber TV DVR Mobile Scheduler in NC will no longer be supported by Lumos. This means current North Carolina video subscribers on our Fiber TV service will no longer be able to use the DVR scheduling service. For more details, visit https://www.lumosfiber.com/dvr-scheduler-decommission. If you love the freedom to record and watch later, check out our new streaming TV service – Lumos TV – which comes with 5 hours of Cloud DVR storage included and has the option to add more. Learn more about Lumos TV and the features it comes.
7. NC Network Change Affecting Channel 29:
On September 22, 2024, Channel 29, which is currently broadcasting Dabl, will switch to Defy TV. For detailed programming schedules and more information about Defy TV, please visit www.defytvnet.com.
8. App Retirements on Watch TV Everywhere:
Effective September 23, 2024, the following apps will be discontinued on the Watch TV Everywhere platform: ABC App, DisneyNow App, Freeform App, FXNow App, Nat Geo TV App. After this date, you can access each network’s content by signing in with your Lumos TV credentials on the network’s websites.
